People Need The Lord

Every day, I walk among them. They pass me by—strangers, neighbors, coworkers, friends—and I can see it in their eyes. The quiet weight they carry, the invisible battles they fight. Empty people filled with care, moving through life, head down, heart heavy, unsure where they are going or if anyone even notices.

Life presses on, and yet behind the masks of normalcy, private pain whispers in every step. Fear moves silently from moment to moment. Laughter hides silent cries. Smiles cover exhaustion. Strength is performed while hearts ache in secret. And often, no one sees. Only Jesus hears.

These moments remind me how desperately people need the Lord. Not just in the bright, easy days, but in the shadows, the valleys, the places where broken dreams pile up and hope feels distant. At the end of disappointment, at the end of fear, He is the open door. He is the safe place, the whisper of love, the answer to the silent prayers that no one else may ever hear.

It makes me think of my own life—of struggles too personal to share openly, of Tim’s health journey, of the long nights and uncertain days. I have felt fear, pain, and exhaustion in ways the world cannot see. And in those moments, I have felt Him. I have heard Him. And I have been reminded that even when life feels overwhelming, He is faithful.

We are called to see each other, yes—but also to point each other to Him. To love, to pray, to hold space, and to speak words of hope. Because the world is full of quiet suffering, and people need the Lord—His presence, His peace, His mercy. He is the only One who can truly heal the silent ache.

So today, as I walk among the hurried, weary, and tired, I will remember this: the world may pass them by, but I will not. I will look, I will care, and I will pray. And I will trust that at the end of every broken dream, He is waiting. The door is open. Hope is alive. Love is faithful

My favorite Christmas movie, without question, is  Spirited . Yes, that wild, musical rollercoaster where Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell sin...
