Finding Strength in the Midst of Struggle

There are moments when I feel like I’m hanging by a thread, teetering on the edge of my own endurance. The pressure of life seems to close in around me, and I find myself at the end of my rope, losing my grip on hope. It’s in these times that I remind myself of the strength that comes from beyond my own understanding—strength that is not just a fleeting feeling but a profound presence that sustains me.

I think about how Jesus showed up in the most unexpected places, among scoundrels, drunkards, and lepers. He chose to be with those society cast aside, those who felt unworthy or broken. It’s a powerful reminder that even in my lowest moments, when I feel unworthy or lost, He is right there with me. He doesn’t shy away from my struggles; instead, He embraces them.

On that hill far away, where He was crucified between two thieves, I see a reflection of my own pain. It may seem like the last place anyone would expect to find hope, yet that’s exactly where Jesus is—right in the midst of suffering and despair. His presence doesn’t promise an absence of pain but offers something far greater: a companionship that understands and a love that never fails.

In my own life, when everything feels overwhelming and I’m drowning in responsibilities or heartache, I remind myself that there is nothing beyond His reach. No situation too dire, no heart too broken for His healing touch. I believe wholeheartedly that if He could bring life to what was dead then, He can do it now.

Right now, God, all I need is Your breath when I can’t breathe. When anxiety grips me and the weight of the world feels too heavy to bear, I long for Your gentle reminder that I am not alone. I need Your eyes to see beyond my circumstances—to see hope where despair threatens to take root.

As the waves crash around me and threaten to pull me under, I cling to the truth that You are my anchor. You are steadfast in the storm, holding me firm when everything else feels chaotic. Even when I can’t feel anything but exhaustion or fear, I trust that You are working beneath the surface.

I yearn for something real amidst this struggle—just one taste of heaven here and now. A glimpse of Your goodness that reassures me of Your presence and power. In those moments of vulnerability and honesty with myself and with You, I find a flicker of hope igniting within me.

So even when I feel like I'm losing my grip, even when it seems like all hope is gone, I choose to believe. Because with You by my side—through every trial and tribulation—I know that strength will come through once again. And as long as You are here with me in this journey, there is always a reason to hold on and keep moving forward.
