The Cruel Irony: Discarded for the Damage They Inflicted

How dare they? How dare they throw away a human being like yesterday's trash, discarding the dedication, talent, and hard work? Especially right now at Christmas! The sheer audacity, the cold-hearted callousness of it all is enough to make my blood boil and my fists clench in rage. This workplace, this supposed bastion of professionalism and progress, has committed an act so despicable it defies comprehension. They've cast aside a valuable employee, a human being with hopes, dreams, and responsibilities, all because of mental health issues they themselves caused. The irony is as bitter as it is infuriating.Day after day, they piled on the pressure and allowed the bullies to continue their reign. The unreasonable demands, the constant criticism, the toxic environment that seeped into every corner of the office. They watched as a once-vibrant individual slowly crumbled under the weight of their mismanagement and cruelty. And now, when their actions have culminated in PNES seizures - a devastating condition that's a direct result of the trauma and stress they inflicted - they have the gall to wash their hands of the situation by saying he is resigning? Think again! It's a betrayal of the highest order. This person gave their all to the organization, sacrificing time, energy, and ultimately their health. And how does the organization repay this loyalty? By treating them as a liability, a problem to be eliminated rather than a person to be supported. The sheer lack of humanity is staggering. Do they not realize that behind every employee number is a living, breathing person with a life outside of work? A person with family, with responsibilities, with dreams that are now shattered because of incomprehensible  callousness? They've sent a chilling message to every other employee: "Your health and wellbeing mean nothing to us. You are disposable."The injustice of it all is maddening. Where is the accountability? Where is the recognition that their actions, their decisions, their toxic culture directly contributed to this person's condition? Instead of taking responsibility, they've chosen the coward's way out, discarding the evidence of their failure as a humane and responsible employer. This is not just a failure of management; it's a failure of basic human decency. It's a damning indictment of a system that values successful appearances over people, that sees employees as replaceable cogs rather than invaluable contributors. To those responsible for this despicable decision: Shame on you. Your actions are not just morally reprehensible; they're a stark reminder of everything that's wrong with modern workplace culture. You've not only failed as leaders but as human beings. And to the person who has been so cruelly discarded: You deserved better. Your worth is not determined by the shortsighted decisions of callous executives. Your health struggles do not define you, and the PNES seizures you now endure are not your fault. You are a victim of workplace cruelty, and your anger is justified. This injustice cannot stand. It's time for a reckoning, for a complete overhaul of how we view mental health in the workplace. No more lip service to wellness while grinding employees into dust. No more discarding people when the damage becomes too visible to ignore. It's time for real change, for true accountability, and for a workplace culture that values human beings over bottom lines. Anything less is not just unacceptable - it's inhumane.
